We moved to NOTL at the end of last year and relied on references for skilled tradespeople. Loney Construction was such a recommendation and in conjunction with a heating project, Todd and his team constructed a room in the garage to accommodate a new furnace as well as all the required bulkheads. Based on our satisfaction with the work, we then hired the company to install hardwood flooring throughout the upstairs of our home. Again we had excellent results.

We were very pleased to have had Todd of Loney Construction work with us on two separate projects. The first being an update and reconfiguration of a dated recreation room. New flooring, book shelf, fireplace and bar were added and we were thrilled with the results.

More recently he and his crew totally demolished our outdated bathroom. It required new flooring, plumbing, electrical, trim work and cupboards. His crew also installed new engineered hardwood floor in two of our bedrooms and walk in closet… It looks stunning! We were thrilled with the quality of workmanship.

Four months later he and his team began on a larger, more complicated job : completely gutting and enlarging our kitchen. Again, a wall and all the cabinets, island, tiled floor had to be removed and the ceiling rebuilt. He worked with us to accommodate our design specs, but also let us know if some of our pre-conceived plans weren’t feasible. In both renos, we bought our own choice of appliances, fittings, etc. Todd designed and built the kitchen cabinets, the island, and a low bookshelf to divide the kitchen from a separate den. We are extremely happy with the result of both renos and we enjoy daily the benefits of living in brighter, lighter, more spacious surroundings, exactly as we hoped they would be.

Now that our renovation project is winding down, we want to thank you for coming to our rescue and commend you for the excellent work of you, your crew and sub-trades on our behalf. Having done a major renovation to move some walls around and install a proper kitchen when we moved into our house, 12 years ago, and a further renovation to the Master bedroom and bath 6 years ago, and having had 2 houses built for us previously, we set out to act as our own general contractor on this renovation, which was intended to refresh the kitchen and correct the remaining things we wanted to change to make our home, finally, entirely to our own taste. After about 3 months, we realized that some problems had arisen that we could not find the right sub-trades to fix. We were introduced to you by Rob Bradley, our painter, initially to come up with an approach to cover some ornate moldings on the side of our stairs, since we had designed and ordered new stainless steel railings to create a more contemporary look, and our curved stair case is a focal point as you enter our home. Our previous finish carpenter had not been able to come up with a solution, but you came up with a template, had 42 made up in your shop, and installed them with John to a high quality finish. We, next asked you to find a plasterer to cover ornate moldings on the bulkhead over our front hall, supporting our 2nd floor open hallway. Your guys came up with a different approach that 2 prior plasterers we had interviewed had not, and did high quality and timely work, with our support. The biggest problem we had encountered was uncovering severe water damage rot under our living room feature 5 windows. With John and Amada’s help, you cut out the 5 windows, ripped out the wallboard and rotted materials under the window, built new framing and sills and close it in with temporary plywood, all in one day. Within 4 weeks, as promised, the 5 new windows were installed by the excellent sub-contractor you hired, with your help.

What we have liked about the way you operate, is that you are hands on, knowledgeable, attentive, have a good crew, hire high quality sub-trades, and care about our home and maintain cleanliness each day. We have indicated that we will want an ongoing relationship with you for any future projects, have sung your praises around town and would recommend to anyone that they hire you for any renovation or new build project. “

For our 10 year anniversary renovation, we brought Loney Construction in to design, and execute the entire project. Todd was on site every day, ensuring that all small details were discussed and explained thoroughly. The end result is beyond our expectations, and has garnered more business in our event space.
